[Gear S] Is device faulty when it cannot connect to wifi while being paired to a phone?

You can connect the Gear S device to a Wi-Fi network to use the

Internet or share media files with other devices.

 

But, please note this feature is only available when the Gear S is not

connected to the mobile device. When the Gear S is connected to mobile, 

Wi-Fi network for Gear S is not necessary because Gear S will use

the data network of mobile device. And if Gear S is connected additionally

to Wi-Fi network, it increase will battery consumption.
