Please be informed, we received an alert about an on-going email scam, claiming that Samsung is having a USD850,000 giveaway to random customers through an Electronic Random Selection System

 

We hereby confirm that such email or the sender of the email has no relation to Samsung Malaysia Electronics (SME) Sdn Bhd (629186-D) and its affiliates. We would like to caution the public to keep vigilant and take reasonable precaution against such emails.

 

Kindly share this information with your friends and families and be cautious about scams as such in the future.

It has been brought to our attention that there is a text message being sent claiming to be from Samsung, requesting customers to access a website and providing their personal data in order to redeem a free Samsung Galaxy S8 via www.samsung.com/free-phone.

 

We hereby confirm that the text message is not sent by us. We would like to advise the public to take precaution against such claims. However, be alert and do not fall victim to any scam message.

 

Please do not hesitate to call us at 1-800-88-9999 to verify on our current promotions before entertaining any text messages from unknown senders.

It has been brought to our  attention at Samsung Malaysia Electronics (SME) Sdn Bhd (629186-D) that there are scam websites (source: http://beflr.com/win-samsung-galaxy-s7-edge/ and http://swinklr.com/win-samsung-galaxy-s7) and Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/wingalaxys7) which has been circulating the Internet claiming that Samsung is unveiling the new Samsung Galaxy S7 and is looking for people near Kuala Lumpur to test the new smartphone by answering a number of questions who will then be shortlisted  to be in the running to get one of the 750 units Galaxy S7.

 

We hereby confirm that such promotion/survey is not organised by and has no relation to us and any of our affiliates. We would like to caution the public to keep vigilant and take reasonable precaution when encountering such websites as participation (in such websites) may result in identity theft or other fraud.

 

We would also like to advise our valued customers to call 1800 88 9999 for verification regarding our current promotions before entertaining any email from unknown senders.

It has been brought to our attention that there are scam emails (source: sm@smp.gift and gift@smp.gift) going around claiming that recipients have won prizes comprising of significant sum of money and/or products (e.g. the sum of GBP 530,000 and Samsung products) and directing them to provide personal data (including travel documents, driver’s license, photo and etc.) to claim the prizes at our Samsung KL office.

 

We hereby confirm that such email or the sender of the email has no relation to Samsung Malaysia Electronics (SME) Sdn Bhd (629186-D) and its affiliates. We would like to caution the public to keep vigilant and take reasonable precaution against such emails.
