[Windows 8] Configuring Internet Connection Settings

'SW Update' → Click 'Update' menu.

Connect network cable to your PC.

Open 'Internet Explorer' to see if you have a good connection to the internet.

If you have a 'You’re not connected to a network.' message →

You need to set IP address IP.

 

.

 

Check your IP, Subnet Mask, Gateway and DNS information with your

network administrator.

 

.

 

‘Control Panel’ → 'Network and Internet'→ 'View network status and tasks' →

'Change adapter settings'

 

.

 

Right click ‘Ethernet' icon, and click ‘Enable’.

(Click 'Disable' if you don't want to use the network)

 

.

Right click ‘Ethernet' icon, and click 'Properties'.

 

.

Click 'Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4)' then click 'Properties'.

 

.

 

Type in the information you checked with the network administrator

then click 'OK' button.

Open 'Internet Explorer' to see if you have a good connection to the internet.

     Updating Wireless Lan Driver

Enter the access point name and password.

 

.

 

Press ‘Windows 8 logo key + C’ to open the Charm Bar then click ‘Settings’,

and click 'Network'.

 

.

 

Type in the access point name you checked with the network administrator

then click 'Connect' button.

 

.

Type in ‘network security key’.

 

.

 

Make sure the access point name has a message on one side saying,

'Connected'

Open 'Internet Explorer' to see if you have a good connection to the internet.

     Tethering process using Galaxy Note 2 with Jelly Bean OS

Tap the 'Apps' menu.

 

.

Tap 'Settings' icon then tap ‘More settings’.

Tap 'Tethering and portable hotspot'

 

.

Turn 'Portable Wi-Fi hotspot' to 'On', and tap 'OK'.

 

.

Tap the access point of the 'Portable Wi-Fi hotspot' then set the ‘Password’.

 

.

 

Make sure the access point name has a message on one side saying,

'Connected'

Open 'Internet Explorer' to see if you have a good connection to the internet.
