How to restart my Galaxy S7 if device appears to be “frozen” or not responding?

If the device freezes or hangs and you are unable to restart it by holding the Power button, please  press and hold the Volume Down button and Power button at the same time for at least 5 seconds to force the device to restart.


If after restarting the device and it still freezes or is still unresponsive, there are some actions you can try to help correct this issue.

Step 1: Use the Galaxy S7 SMART Manager app to help optimize the device and check for Malware.(SMART Manager may not be available depending on the region or service provider).


Step 2: Free memory space.


Step 3: Check for Software updates for the device.


Step 4: Check your device in Safe mode.


Step 5: Perform Factory data reset (via Settings) of the device. Before performing the factory data reset, remember to make backup copies of all important data stored in the device.
