My phone does not seem to power on, what is the problem?

The phone may not power on for different reasons:


• Battery has discharged


If the battery has discharged and the phone has been left for a long period of time after the discharge, then the battery may need to be charged for a longer period of time before the screen powers on with the charge logo.

Please leave the charger plugged in for up to around 10 minutes.
If the display does not show the battery charging icon then there may be a fault with the charger or phone.
Try another charger or charging cable, however if still faulty  then send the phone to your Authorised Samsung Service centre for assessment.
 
Please ensure to use the correct Samsung charger that came with the phone


• The charging operation is not working?

 

Please check the charging operation by testing with another charger and cable.
If your phone supports the wireless charging option and you have this available then test with the wireless charger also.
If the phone does not start charging within 10 minutes then there may be a fault with the phone, therefore please send the phone to your Authorised Samsung Service centre for assessment.
 


• Is the power button faulty?


If the phone is displaying the charging icon while off then it is possible that the phones power button may be faulty.
Send to your Authorised Samsung Service centre for assessment.

 

• The Display may be faulty/damaged and therefore the customer believes that there is no power.
 

Plug in the charger and try to power on the phone.
If the phone is powering on but has a faulty display you will hear the start-up tone or see the display backlight.
Send to your Authorised Samsung Service centre for assessment.
