What is the Smart Stay feature on my Galaxy S4?

The Smart Stay feature uses the front camera to sense when you are looking at your device, and keeps the screen from turning off regardless of the screen timeout setting.

 

Smart Stay Animation

 

    To activate the Smart stay feature, follow the steps below: 

    Step 1:     From the Home screen, touch Menu Menu key.

    Step 2:     Go to Settings Settings Shortcut.

    Step 3:     Select My Device Settings Device Tab Icon

    Step 4:     Choose the Smart screen  Smart Screen Icon option. 

    Step 5:     Smart Stay is turned ON when a green check mark appears.

 

 

    Please note that Smart Stay may not work in the following situations:

 

 

    1.     When the device is not docked or held. 

 

    2.     When the front camera fails to detect face and eyes.  

 

    3.     When the source of the light is behind you or when using the device in the dark. 

 

    4.     When the front camera is being used in an application.
