TalkBack
Screen reader feature helps the users with visual impairments. It provides spoken feedback to help users understand about the contents on the screen. You can use your device without looking at the screen.

The new TalkBack feature combines the strengths and identities of each screen reader. Try it for yourself. Display mode
On Display mode, you can increase the contrast on the screen or make the contents appear bigger. There is no need to turn on each accessibility feature such as High contrast fonts, High contrast keyboard and Screen zoom individually. You can choose the appropriate mode for you immediately.

High contrast theme
Use a theme with light-coloured content on a dark background for easier reading and higher visibility. This helps reduce eye fatigue especially when using your phone in a dark environment or for an extended time. There are various high contrast themes available in the Galaxy Themes.

High contrast fonts
Adjust the colour and outline of fonts to increase the contrast between the text and the background.

High contrast keyboard
Variety of high contrast keyboard options increase the size of the Samsung keyboard and change the colour of the keys to increase the contrast between the text and the background.

Highlight buttons
Show buttons with colours to make them stand out.

Relumino outline
If you’re having trouble seeing objects in videos or photos on your screen due to blurry vision, try Relumino Outline. It provides distinguishable boundaries between objects and their surroundings.

Colour inversion
Invert colours of the screen for better visibility.

Colour correction
If it's hard for you to discern certain colours on the screen, use colour correction to help you distinguish them better. It allows you to adjust and set the colour combination that works best for you.

Colour filter

Reduce animations

Reduce transparency and blur
Reduce transparency and blur on dialogs and menus to make them more visible.

Extra dim
If your screen is too bright, even at the lowest brightness setting, turn on Extra dim for a more comfortable reading in the dark.

Magnification
You can magnify your whole screen or selected part of the screen. Access the Magnification function quickly by using the shortcut. You can easily switch between the whole screen magnification and part of the screen magnification modes.

Magnifier
Magnifier Widget helps you easily zoom into objects around you. It also includes colour filters, brightness and contrast controls for a clearer view of text and images. You can add the Magnifier Widget to the home screen from the widget menu.

Cursor thickness
You can set the thickness of the text cursor for better visual recognition.

Pointer size and colour
You can adjust the size or colour of the mouse pointer or touchpoint displayed on the screen.

Font size and style
You can change the size and style of the font to improve text legibility and visibility on your screen.

Screen zoom
Change the screen zoom. It will adjust the size of the items on your screen.

Time to take action
You can choose how long to show messages that ask you to take action, but are visible only temporarily, such as temporary on-screen notifications or the volume controller. It will help you not miss what you need.

Speak keyboard input aloud
You can have the text you typed in read out loud using Samsung Keyboard. Speak Keyboard Input Aloud provides typing feedback in characters, words, or both based on your preference.

Audio description
You can set to hear the 'Audio description' automatically when you watch a video that contains an 'Audio description'.

Bixby Vision for accessibility
Bixby Vision provides verbal depictions of what it sees, helping you make sense of the world around you.
  • * How to apply : Settings > Accessibility > Vision enhancements > Bixby Vision for accessibility
  • * Scene Describer mode currently supports English (US), French, German, Italian, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish (Spain).
  • * Object Identifier mode supports 17 languages, which are the same as the languages supported in the translation feature.
Voice label
You can use NFC tags to distinguish objects of similar shape by attaching labels to them. You can record and assign a voice recording to an NFC tag. The voice recording is played back when you place your phone near the NFC tag.

Voice guide
Voice guide enables Smart TVs to provide an audio description of the items displayed on your screen. It helps blind users or those who have difficulty seeing the screen to use basic TV functions and various smart services, such as Internet and search with voice feedback. With Voice guide, you can hear information about the current channel and volume, current and future broadcasts, and the viewing schedule.

Audio description
Audio description is a service provided by many US television programs for blind users or those who have difficulty seeing the screen. An additional audio track is broadcast which provides a verbal description of the scene to aid your understanding. Enjoy a more vivid experience with a narration of scene changes, character expressions, gestures and costumes, and more.

  • * Audio description is only available if supported by the broadcast you are currently watching.
Graphic zoom
If you can't see the screen well with low vision, you can enlarge the screen to see the image or text larger. You can magnify the screen as you like up to 200% or adjust the position of the area to be magnified.

High contrast
Light-coloured text against a dark background enables those with colour blindness or low vision to see screen text more clearly. You can change the background colour of the main service screen to black and the text colour to white or yellow to increase visibility and reduce eye strain. Plus, the transparent TV menu screen is automatically changed to opaque to make text more legible.

Enlarge
The Enlarge function makes menus and text bigger to help those with low vision. You can view larger text and detailed sections of service screens, such as Channel information, Smart hub, Settings, pop-ups and more.

Grayscale
If you have trouble recognising colours or have high eye strain, you can change the colour of the screen to black and white by using grayscale. You can use the black and white mode to sharpen the blurry borders caused by colour and to relax your eyes without straining your eyes.

Colour inversion
If you are sensitive to light or have poor eyesight, you can invert the background to black and the text to white. Colour inversion helps to increase visual recognition, reduce glare and reduce eye strain.

SeeColours
The SeeColours app, available on all Samsung QLED TVs, helps those with a colour vision deficiency to adjust screen colour to suit their eyes. You can check the presence and degree of colour blindness, and, based on the diagnosis, adjust the screen colour to the spectrum of colours that your eyes can recognise.

Learn remote control
Learn remote control enables blind users or users with low vision to quickly learn the location and operation of the remote control buttons. The TV will tell you what each button does after you press it.

Learn menu screen
Learn menu screen enables blind or low vision users to learn various TV functions. It provides e-manual audio explanations of how to use the remote control, accessibility menu, TV voice guidance, broadcast guidance, viewing schedule and more.

Kitchen/Living Appliances

SmartThings TalkBack for home appliances and services
You can control home appliances with SmartThings Talkback screen reader. It is a feature that assists visually impaired users. Talkback provides voice feedback to help understand the contents on the screen and reads the focused contents aloud. The focus can be controlled by tapping or sliding on the screen. A practical use for the visually impaired has been verified.

Washer/Dryer

Braille stickers
Braille and tactile points are applied to key buttons, making them easy to find for visually impaired users. Braille stickers are provided free of charge upon request for use and it fits perfectly with Samsung appliances.
* Currently, braille stickers are provided upon request for washer and dryer models released from 2019 onwards.
Control panel with improved visibility
The washer and dryer can be used even in dark environments with a bright LCD screen. Instead of marks and indicators on the control panel of washers and dryers, an LCD control panel with enlarged text is adopted to ensure visibility even in dark environments.
* This feature is applied to washer/dryer models with LCD.
Accessible sound UX
Users can distinguish the functions of washer and dryer by sound and tone. For example, if the user turns the knob of a washer/dryer, a tone is played each time the Normal cycle is reached. Also, when the user increases the water temperature of a washer, the sound scale goes up.

Users can distinguish the temperature of a refrigerator by tone. For example, when the user increases the temperature, the sound scale goes up.
Text to speech
Family Hub offers text-to-speech functions on Smart Recipe and Atelier(Art Collection) Apps for everyone. Read and listen to audio descriptions of your favourite recipes and art collections when your hands and eyes are busy. This function can help visually impaired users to listen to content descriptions.
* It works on Smart Recipe and Atelier Apps on Family Hub Refrigerator. Currently, Atelier App works in Korea, United States, and Latin America/Caribbean.

Dishwasher/Induction Hob

Accessible sound UX
Users can distinguish the functions of dishwasher and induction hob by sound and tone. For example, if the user selects the mode of a dishwasher, a tone is played each time when the leftmost mode is selected. Also, when the user increases the power level of a induction hob, the sound scale goes up.
