Galaxy S6: How to use the Quick connect feature to connect the device with nearby devices?

Last Update Date : Mar 02. 2018

Quick Connect

Quick connect simplifies sharing content with other devices. Let Quick connect find nearby devices, and then share your screen or send pictures, music, videos, and more.

Quick connect will also use the Bluetooth® feature, Wi-Fi Direct®, or Screen mirroring depending on the type of content being shared and whether the other device has Quick connect installed.

Note: When Quick connect is turned on, other devices will be able to see your device and send sharing requests.

Share Content with Quick Connect

1 To access Quick connect from any menu or application, open the Notification Panel by swiping from the top of the screen to the bottom.
2 Tap Quick connect.
Tap Quick Connect
3 Select Always visible or Only when Quick connect turned on.
4 Tap ENABLE QUICK CONNECT
5 A list of nearby devices displays. Tap the device you would like to connect to. In this example, our device can Share content or Share Wi-Fi profile.

Share the Content you are viewing

The fastest way to share content is while it is already open on your screen.

1 Open the content you want to share, whether it's a photo, video, song, etc.
2 To access Quick connect from any menu or application, open the Notification Panel by swiping from the top of the screen to the bottom.
3 Tap Quick connect.
4 Tap the device name.
5 Tap Share selected content.
6 The device you are sharing with will be asked to ACCEPT or DECLINE the content.
7 After the files have been accepted and downloaded, they can be accessed from the application in which they are used (such as the Contacts application). You can also access them from the Notification Panel by swiping down from the top of the screen.

Find Nearby Device

If the device you want to connect to does not automatically display in the nearby devices list:

1 Make sure the device you want to connect to is turned on and the screen is awake.
2 Turn on Quick connect from the Notification Panel.

• Make sure the device you are connecting to has the Bluetooth feature turned on and the Bluetooth visibility set to be visible to all nearby devices.

• Make sure both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network.
