Kies is used throughout the world to manage content on Samsung mobile devices. Kies is a complete end-to-end solution that allows you to manage, transfer, and enjoy content, including photos, videos, music, contacts, and calendar events between your compatible mobile device and a computer.

Kies also allows you to synchronize your Microsoft® Outlook® content on your computer with a mobile device. A user who doesn't use Microsoft® Outlook® can use the built in Personal Information Management (PIM) software to create contacts, calendar events, and schedules.

Media & Data Synchronization: Kies supports a quick and intuitive interface for transferring music, videos, and photos from a computer to a device. The software can even support two mobile devices being connected at the same time to exchange information. PIM software has been included within Kies to help manage contacts, schedule, and memo data. Non-localized data such as what is stored within services provided by Google, Yahoo, or Exchange for example, is also supported.



Mobile Firmware (device software) Updates: Kies can provide the latest official firmware (software) updates for a mobile device because it has framework that can accommodate many platforms. Once the application is installed and a mobile device connected, it will check the server for updates. If available, you will be prompted to install the update if desired. Data Backup & Restore: Kies can backup data localized data on mobile device including bookmarks, settings (general settings, Wi-Fi lists) alarms, contacts, and any music, videos, or photos. Media that is DRM protected will not be included in the backup due to licensing. For example, if you purchased a movie from Samsung's Media Hub, the movie will not be included; however, you can still retrieve the movie after restoration by signing into your Media Hub account and downloading it. Import & Export: When working with data different file types, Kies has a handy Import/Export feature. You may choose to import/export files in several available formats between the computer and mobile device.

Multimedia Library & Playlist: New with Kies, you can create your own playlists based on selected preferences. If you have a previous playlist from iTunes or Windows Media Player, it can be imported. The application does support a drag and drop method for transferring media.



Podcasts: Channels may be added and episodes downloaded daily to be synchronized with the mobile device.
