An integrated hospitality management solution.
Seamlessly Integrated Hospitality TVs and Wireless Technologies Deliver Optimal In-Room Control and Content, Energy and Room Management
The introduction of cutting-edge technology enables premium hotels and resorts to deliver a differentiating experience for their guests. One prominent example is the transformation of in-room hotel televisions into a control hub capable of communicating with multiple integrated IT devices. As the latest evolution in luxury and premium hotel management, Samsung’s LYNK Hospitality Management Solution (HMS) creates a more convenient and pleasurable guest experience by giving staff and guests greater control over different aspects of hotel and in-room environments, ranging from room lighting and energy use to personal services and workflow management.
Samsung’s all-in-one LYNK HMS elevates in-room televisions into a gateway connecting guest room devices with the HMS server, the hotel’s existing property management system (PMS) and LYNK HMS’ embedded mobile application for the Room Management Solution (RMS). This seamless integration of resources, achieved through standard wireless protocol, allows hotels to control the personalization of light, shade, temperature, door signage, content and motion detection settings to suit guest needs. Easily utilized with Samsung’s HD690, HD690U, HD890U and HD890W hospitality displays through the addition of an optional HMS dongle,* the integrated hotel solution improves overall operations at a reduced total cost of ownership (TCO) and simplifies the delivery of personalized guest services. By transforming the guest experience and fostering customer loyalty, Samsung’s LYNK HMS helps premium hotels and resorts differentiate their unique offerings for a strengthened bottom line.

Consolidate Control and Management Capability through an Integrated Hotel Solution
With conventional in-room control and management services, hotel managers experience limited capability, frustration and cost implications of being unable to merge additional devices with those service’s HMS servers or the hotel’s PMS. Samsung’s innovative LYNK HMS transforms in-room televisions into a fully-integrated control and management gateway, combining critical capabilities into a single solution. These core services include:
• Room Management Solution (RMS) – a comprehensive management tool and mobile application solution that streamlines hotel staff service workflows through real-time temperature, device performance and electricity consumption monitoring
• Energy Management Solution (EMS) – a sensor-based tool that monitors room occupancy and adjusts heat and air settings accordingly for more intelligent resource delivery
• In-Room Control (IRC) Service – an on-screen service that allows guests to control various aspects of their in-room environment through a user-friendly interface
• Content Management Solution (CMS) – a bi-directional interactive program that creates a more welcoming in-room experience, as hotels can deliver custom messages and access to applications and web services
Samsung’s LYNK HMS is available in two service package options. The standard package includes the four core services, along with a wireless dongle and smart remote control for smoother connectivity and performance. An extended service package supplements the standard offerings with an advanced in-room control (IRC) service, including enhanced lighting, drape and control switch capabilities, as well as the IRC’s Quick Mode setting.
Streamline Workflow with Real-Time Monitoring and a Compatible Mobile Application
The Samsung LYNK HMS’s Room Management Solution (RMS) provides in-room usage and system intelligence to help hotels operate more efficiently, as well as mobile-enabled workflow management functionality that improves performance. Through the RMS’ intelligence features, hotel staff can conduct real-time monitoring to check room device status, performance and security, and receive guest service requests. Furthermore, staff can evaluate and conduct a detailed energy utilization analysis, helping them anticipate potential HVAC-related failures and optimize energy settings.
The RMS mobile application also automates processes to accelerate staff workflow and guest responsiveness. RMS streamlines the room assignment and make-up-room (MUR) processes by prioritizing rooms to clean based on room status. Staff also can quickly respond to guest requests submitted to the RMS application, as the system assigns tasks to housekeepers, inspectors or managers. Along with these capabilities, managers can easily share customized rules and procedures with staff to boost productivity and accountability. Thus, hotel staff can proactively improve room conditions and provide superior customer service.
Maximize Guest Comfort and Reduce Energy Costs through Sensor-Based Control
With heat or air conditioning continuously flowing through multiple rooms at once, energy usage significantly impacts hotels’ overall operating expenses. Through the Samsung LYNK HMS’s Energy Management Solution (EMS), hotels can optimize in-room energy settings to reduce overall consumption while still delivering unparalleled comfort. As guests check in, hotel staff can set uniform room temperatures within a single room or block of rooms based on weather patterns and room position within the hotel. Using several sensors located in each room, the EMS service’s sensor-based monitoring technology also senses guest movement. Based on the combined data collected from the sensors, Samsung’s LYNK HMS can determine if a room is occupied. This information enables hotels to reduce or turn off heating and cooling systems during those vacant periods if desired. While guests can adjust temperature settings in their rooms, anticipating opportunities to more intelligently control energy distribution helps hotels reduce energy costs, promote energy system performance and drive operational efficiency.
Elevate the Guest Experience through Streamlined Device Control Accessibility
While hotels can use Samsung’s LYNK HMS to proactively adjust room settings for continued performance and guest comfort, the solution’s In-Room Control (IRC) service also grants guests greater control of in-room devices to create their ideal room environment. Each IRC-enabled Samsung hospitality display features an intuitive user interface for simple adjustment of temperature, lighting and drape positioning settings through a single location. Guests also can request privacy through the IRC’s do-not-disturb/make-up-room (DND/MUR) function. Additionally, users can save their preferred conditions and activate them with a simple button push through the IRC’s Quick Mode setting. Through increased accessibility and seamless control, the IRC’s simplified room management technology delivers the convenience, customization and performance guests expect from a world-class hotel.
Maximize Guest Comfort through a Two-Way, IP-Based Content Management Solution
Through Samsung’s fully-equipped, bi-directional and interactive LYNK SINC 3.0 Content Management Solution (CMS), hotel managers can design and deliver custom content for an elevated guest experience. Embedded within the Samsung LYNK HMS, LYNK SINC 3.0 lets hotels create content without having to purchase additional external tools. All programming conducted through the LYNC SINC program occurs across a hotel’s IP network, eliminating the need for costly set-top boxes (STBs) and reducing maintenance complexity. In addition to simplifying check-in and checkout, hotel staff can remotely program individual hospitality displays or groups of displays to showcase personalized welcome messages, up-to-date flight schedules, weather conditions and local entertainment options. An intuitive, two-way user interface makes this information readily accessible to guests while also granting them convenient access to their favorite web-based applications and social networking sites (SNS).
