What shall I do if the dryer drum of my washing machine does not spin?

Last Update Date : May 17. 2018

[Solution]

If your dryer drum does not spin, please do the following:

    • Make sure the door is closed. Your dryer drum will not spin if the door is open

    • Check for an overload condition. A dryer that is overloaded with heavy, water saturated items can cause the belt that drives the drum to slip. Try reducing the load.

    • Check for a broken belt. Try spinning the drum by hand. If the drum spins with little or no effort, the belt is probably broken.

If the first two suggestions do not resolve the problem and/or the drum spins with little or no effort, the belt is probably broken and your dryer needs service.
