Galaxy Gear S: Discussion on the Quality of Service and Signal Performance

The Antenna signal or Call reception performance of the wearable device

may be lower than the smart phone according to the surrounding environment 

 

This is caused by features of device itself like small device size, wearing on a

wrist comparing with general smart phones. Since wearable devices like Gear S

has smaller size, it has also minimal GND size which eliminate interference

and it degrade the Antenna and RF performance.  Similarly,  it should be wore

on a wrist and RF degradation occurs by a human body impact.

 

Although there may be a degradation in Antenna signal or Call reception performance

than the smart phone in a weak signal area , but in most of actual use environment ,

Gear S provides the functions of the same level with smart phones. Additionally, the

performance level is much higher comparing with existing similar wearable devices

from other manufacturer.

 

We recommend you will use the Gear S paired after connecting to your mobile

device via Bluetooth  for the usual situation , and for the special situation like exercise,

please use the Gear S device standalone mode.

 

Then, you will be able to enjoy the stable and optimized performance of Gear S

with the companion mode which is connected to the mobile device.
