What is AVI (Audio Video Interleave)?

AVI - Audio Video Interleave. AVI is a multimedia file format that was developed by Microsoft and released in 1992. AVI files contain both video and audio information that can be played back simultaneously. AVI files can be encoded through many different encoders. Some Samsung TVs have the ability to playback AVI files that are encoded with supported codecs.
Tip: Check your user manual to confirm what codes are supported by your TV.
