It facilitates the next-generation 5G experiences such as mixed reality (MR) and cloud-gaming. Capable of supporting 5G’s sub-6GHz, the Exynos 880 offers an upload speed of up to 1.28Gbps, and a download speed of up to 2.55Gbps that can be lifted up to 3.55Gpbs with E-UTRA-NR Dual Connectivity that combines 5G and LTE capabilities.1 The Exynos 880 also works with diverse major networks from 2G to 4G, and offers an LTE download speed of up to 1Gbps.1

Intelligent capabilities built right in. The AI capabilities of the Exynos 880 enables smarter mobile experiences such as intelligent camera and virtual assistant functionality. The Exynos 880 incorporates a neural processing unit (NPU) and digital signal processor (DSP) for on-device AI that accelerates response times and improves security. The NPU enables deep learning by accelerating the execution of artificial neural network processes, while the DSP supports efficient operation of intelligent vision applications. The Exynos 880’s NPU and DSP share a controller and Direct-Memory-Access (DMA), which enables faster and efficient AI processing.

Compute power that can handle it all. The high-level computing power enabled by the Exynos 880 facilitates multi-tasking with less lag for seamless 5G experiences. The Exynos 880’s powerful Octa-core CPU incorporates two Arm® Cortex®-A77 cores for intensive tasks and six Cortex-A55 cores for always-on tasks. Offering speeds of up to 2.0Ghz, the Cortex-A77s are responsible for the advanced computing power, while the Cortex-A55 cores clock speeds of up to 1.8Ghz and provide improved power efficiency for long lasting battery life.

Take photos like a pro. Enabling highly intelligent, multi-camera photography, the Exynos 880 is able to handle complex image analysis and recognition tasks. It also gives rise to a host of AI-powered camera functions that provide optimal image processing by detected subject including person’s face. The Exynos 880’s advanced image signal processor supports up to five individual sensors and is able to process three sensors concurrently, while enabling a single-camera max resolution of 64Mp and a dual-camera rating of 20Mp for each camera. As far as video, the Exynos 880’s multi-format codec supports 4K 30fps video recording and playback, with HEVC, H.264 and VP9.
