The Exynos 7885 processor features an octa-core CPU consists of dual 2.2GHz Cortex-A73 CPU cores and hexa 1.6GHz Cortex-A53 CPU cores for powerful computing performance. The octa-core CPU is composed of three-cluster architecture that optimizes computing power with the advanced power control. The Exynos 7885 delivers up to 85% more single-core performance than its predecessor, the Exynos 7880, resulting in faster app launching, website loading, and seamless multi-tasking.

With the LTE modem that supports almost every major network, the Exynos 7885 processor enables faster and reliable mobile communication experiences. The modem supports multi-modes from 2G to 4G including CDMA, GSM, TD-SCDMA, WCDMA, LTE-FDD and LTE-TDD modes. The Exynos 7885 processor offers fast downlink speed of up to 600Mbps and uplink up to 150Mbps with the modem that supports LTE category 12 with 3CA(Carrier Aggregation) for downlink and category 13 with 2CA for uplink. The Exynos 7885 also features diverse connectivity including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and FM radio, along with 4-mode GNSS(Global Navigation Satellite System) feature for location based experience.

For a shutterbug who wants a DSLR-like photography, the Exynos 7885 features an advanced ISP(Image Signal Processor) that supports up to four image sensors including 16Mp dual-camera and iris sensor for enhanced security. The Exynos 7885 enables and optimizes diverse dual-camera scenarios such as smooth switching between tele and wide, beautifully blurring bokeh effect for portraits, and cleverly fusing of color and monochrome images for vivid color. The ISP also enhances the quality of photograph with various image processing and photography algorithms such as smart WDR(Wide Dynamic Range), DRC(Dynamic Range Compression), PDAF(Phase Detection Auto Focus), and face detection.

The Exynos 7885 processor with the advanced MFC (Multi-Format Codec) enables 4K UHD filming and playback for capturing splendid stories in high quality. The MFC supports 4K UHD encoding and decoding at 30fps with an efficient codec that includes HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding). HEVC enables recording and storing high quality video in optimal file sizes for easy sharing. Furthermore, the dedicated audio sub-system provides high quality audio processing with low power consumption for more immersive multimedia experience and a better call quality.
