Singapore – 21 November 2017 – Samsung Electronics Singapore today introduced the latest innovation in Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, the Samsung Connect Home and Samsung Connect Home Pro – an all-in-one solution that provides both whole home Wi-Fi^® and smart home connectivity with one of the richest smart home device ecosystem in the market. Singapore will be the first country, apart from the US, to offer the Samsung Connect Home device, which was showcased today at a launch event held at Orchard Scotts Residences by Far East Hospitality. Media were given a first hand look at the Samsung Connect Home in action in a full-home setup in one of Orchard Scotts Residences' serviced apartments in a partnership with Far East Hospitality, allowing them to experience the full capabilities of the latest IoT device by Samsung.

Expandable Mesh Wi-Fi^® Networks

Each Samsung Connect Home device is an incredibly powerful solution to removing blind spots for Wi-Fi^® coverage within the home, with each router having a range of up to 1,500 square feet. Users can increase their coverage to up to 7,500 square feet with the use of five routers, which work together in tandem to create a single Wi-Fi^® network that make Wi-Fi^® calls or video streams smooth while moving about the home.

 

 

A SmartThings Hub

The Samsung Connect Home and Connect Home Pro not only functions as a mesh Wi-Fi^® system, but also works as a SmartThings Hub, making it compatible with locally certified Works with SmartThings devices and Samsung appliances¹. The integration of the SmartThings platform and the Samsung Connect Home device allows users to utilize it to its fullest potential, creating a smart home of interconnected devices and appliances.
