Samsung SmartThings Water Leak sensor won't connect

If after initial setup and your Samsung SmartThings Water Leak sensor won't connect, ensure that SmartThings Hub is installed and follow these steps:

1 Delete the sensor

Tap Devices at the bottom center > Select the Three Dots icon at the top right > Edit > Remove the device using the minus sign on the right > Confirm delete

2 Reset the sensor

a. Tap Add device > Add device manually > Moisture sensor > Samsung SmartThings

b. While the Connect Home is searching, press and hold the connect button on the Water Leak sensor for 5 seconds

c. Release the button when the LED light starts blinking red. The LED should blink green three times when it connects to the Connect Home

3 How far away is the sensor from the Connect Home?

a. Bring the sensor within 10-feet (3-meters) of the Connect Home and try the reset and repeat the steps detailed in Setup. Confirm the sensor is working

b. Move the to the final location and confirm it continues operating

4 Confirm the LED is blinking
5 Check that the battery is not drained and is firmly seated within the casing. If the battery level is low, replace it (1 CR2).

6 Check that the sensor did not pair in the background or pairs silently and the spinner on the pairing screen doesn't go past Searching for devices

a. To check, go the device list in the app: My Devices. Look for a device with the generic name Leak Sensor

7 Did any water get inside the device casing? Check for discoloration around the batteries as a sign of water damage
8 Reboot the Connect Home from Samsung SmartThings, My Devices > Tap your Connect Home device > Tap the picture of your Connect Home > Reboot Device
9 If the Connect Home does not respond to the reboot command, hard reboot it by unplugging the power for 30 seconds
