Why is the fingerprint reader on the back of Samsung Galaxy Note8?

Last Update Date : Jun 25. 2018

Samsung have moved the fingerprint reader to the back to create the Galaxy Note8’s bezel-less Infinity display and to optimize the design of the device. It’s the same as Galaxy S8 but rearranged back side design.

To prevent contamination of the camera lens due to fingerprint recognition, the Flash/HRM part was inserted in between which increased the distance between camera and fingerprint sensor.
