Love your selfies

See how you can take selfies using Gesture and Voice controls

Please note that the handset shown in this video is a Galaxy S9 | S9+. But the features shown / explained are also available for the Galaxy A8.

Option 1 - Using the standard camera button

  • Select Camera from the home screen.
  • Select the camera icon (found in the top left corner of the screen) to switch to front-facing camera.
  • Tap the camera button to take a selfie.

  • Select camera from the home screen.
  • Select the camera icon (found in the top left corner of the screen) to switch to front-facing camera
  • Tap live focus.
  • Now adjust the background blur to your requirements.
  • Tap the camera button to take a selfie.
Option 3 - Using Gesture Control

  • Select Camera from the home screen.
  • Select Settings (found in the bottom left side of the screen).
  • Select Shooting Methods.
  • Double-check the Heart Rate Sensor is on.
  • Place your finger on the sensor (found at the back of the phone).
  • Take your finger off the sensor to capture a selfie.
Option 4 - Using Voice Control

  • Take a picture by saying “Smile”, “Cheese”, “Capture”, “Shoot” or “Hi Bixby, take a selfie."
  • To activate Voice Control, go to Settings in the Camera app.
