Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent phone for those in the outdoors. I'm a professional ecologist, and this is the phone that my work allocates to people who are going out in the field. Its waterproof, relatively drop proof, and functions quite well for the price point. Overall I'd say its the rugged equivalent of a J4 in terms of function, but the battery lasts longer. I've really put this phone through a lot of abuse in the field, and its survived undamaged. This is not something to take lightly, as every other phone I've had hasn't lasted the rigours of field work. Would buy again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great phone until Oreo Was a great mid-range kind of phone. Waterproof, reasonably drop-proof etc. Came with Android Nougat which was ok and ran pretty well, but since upgrading to Oreo the phone has started to have several issues icluding high battery usage (I used to get a couple of days no matter what I did with the phone, whereas since Oreo I am now lucky to get 24hrs usage from it (whether I actually use it or not). There are several bugs in the OS that mean for instance: that if you choose to disable the Apps button, you can no longer re-enable it (the switch setting doesn't save), the settings app crashes if you try to change the grid to anything but whatever its set on. There are lots of these small but frustrating bugs to found throughout the Oreo OS - (it is Oreo 8.1.), add Samsung's habit of stopping you from disabling apps you do not use (for instance I do not want a weather app and though it is only a small inconvenience that it takes up space on my screen, it puts a lie to the idea of this being my device that is customised for my use... the reality is, is that it's customised to Samsung's use!) and this phone becomes a much less attractive proposition that it was previously. So, at this moment I would recommend NOT buying one of these devices - hardware is OK (if you want a basic net, email, messages, FB, etc phone), but Oreo slows it down and makes it so buggy that you will constantly be frustrated by such things if you are of that type of mind, as I am). However, if Samsung did a little more quality control on their (or Google's) OS software and also allowed the disabling of any of their unwanted bundled software I would possibly change my mind. AT the moment, this phone is being held back by its software and Samsung's policy. My opinion. Do NOT buy this phone. GO look at a Nokia or something instead.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Can't find any parts I have got a crack in my screen and no matter how hard I look I can not find any screen replacements anywhere! Do not get this phone unless you would like a phone you can notfix yourself! Definitely not buying a Samsung again unless this can be resolved!
