How do I take screenshots on my Samsung Galaxy S5?

Using keys

Press and hold the home and power button simultaneously

To capture a screenshot press and hold the Home key (1) and the Power key (2) simultaneously. The screenshot will be saved to your Gallery.

Swiping your palm across the screen

You can capture a screenshot by touching the screen with the side of your hand and swiping across from left to right or vice versa. The screenshot will be saved to your Gallery.

Place your right hand at the edge of your device on the right side
Gently move your right hand and bring it towards the center screen of your device
Gently move your right hand and bring it towards the left side screen edge your device

How to enable the palm swipe gesture

1) Tap Apps 2) Tap Settings
1 From the Home screen touch Apps.
2 Touch Settings.
1) Motions and gestures menu is selected 2) Palm swipe to capture option is selected
3 Touch Motions and gestures.
4 Touch Palm swipe to capture.
Capture screen function is turned on
5 Touch the switch to turn Capture screen on.

Viewing your Screenshots

To open a screenshot immediately after you capture it:

1 Open the Notification Panel by swiping your finger from the top of the screen to the bottom.
2 Touch Screenshot captured.
3 Touch the desired screenshot.

Note: to view your screenshots at any time, from the Home screen touch Apps > Gallery > Screenshots.  

When viewing the screenshot the following icons are available at the top of the screen:

1 Change player: Play your media on a nearby compatible DLNA-enabled device.
2 Share via: Share the screenshot with Bluetooth, Email, Gmail, Messages or Wi-Fi Direct.
3 Studio: This is where you can edit your photo.
4 Delete: Delete the file.
5 More options.

Note: additional sharing options may be available on your device. The options may vary depending on the applications installed and features you have turned on. 

Touch More options (3 dot menu) for the following options:

More info: View information about the screenshot such as the DateLocationCategory, and Tags. Touch the Pencil icon  to edit the information. Touch Details to show technical information about the screenshot, such as its size. 

Studio: This is where you can edit your photo.

Crop: Crop unwanted areas out of the screenshot. 

Rename: Rename the file. 

Slideshow: Start a slideshow of the screenshots in the folder. 

Add tag: Add a tag to your photo.

Set as: Set the screenshot as a Contact photo, Home screen wallpaper, Lock screen wallpaper, Home and lock screens wallpaper, or Google wallpaper. 

Print: Print the screenshot to an available printer via a wireless network, Wi-Fi Direct or via a USB connection.

Settings: View and edit Gallery settings. View accounts available for syncing with the Gallery. Select when sync should occur. Turn on Tag buddy or Face tag.
