Welcome!

Flaw detection directly analyses the pictures you take with your Note9 and provides re-shooting notifications when an error is detected.

For example, ‘Someone may have blinked’ or ‘That last shot may be blurry’.

There are four types of notifications:

Eye Blink measures the eye size in preview.

It then detects any change in the eye size when the shutter clicks, and whether the eyes have blinked.

Eye Blink detection works best when there are three or fewer people in the frame, and they are 1.5 metres or closer to the camera.

Motion Blur detects any blur caused from the photographer's shaky hands by using the sensor in the device.

It also detects face blur by recognising the subject's face movement.

Lens Smudge detects any dirt on the camera lens. It gives a notice only once during the first 10 seconds of opening the Camera app.

Back Light detects saturated areas in the image, for example if there’s a bright light in the background.

Depending on the person, background, and environment, you may not be notified.

If you do not want to use these Flaw Detection features, tap settings on the preview screen and tap the Flaw detection switch to deactivate it.
