Samsung User Trial Privacy Notice

Samsung Electronics America, Inc. (“Samsung”) respects your concerns about privacy. This Privacy Notice applies to the personal information Samsung may obtain about you through your participation in the Samsung User Trial. It does not apply to information collected by other apps, websites, services or programs provided by Samsung. This Privacy Notice provides information about how we may collect, use and share your personal information we obtain in connection with the Samsung User Trial, including through the device(s) provided to you by Samsung as part of the Samsung User Trial (each a “Device”).
Information We Obtain
Through your participation in the Samsung User Trial, we may obtain the following types of information about you:
Information you may provide to us:
• Contact information, such as your name, postal address, personal phone number, work phone number and personal and work email addresses.
• Demographic information, such as your age and date of birth, sex, gender and race.
• Samsung Account information, such as the email address associated with your Samsung Account.
• Recordings of your voice, when you use voice commands to control the Device;
• Employment information, including your employee ID if you are employed by Samsung or by a company that Samsung does business with.
Information we may collect automatically through your use of the Device includes:
• Device and app information, such as Device identifiers (e.g., IMEI, UN Number, serial number), Device model, hardware model, operating system, Device configurations and settings, mobile network operator, app usage information and Device log information. In addition, we may obtain information about how, when and for how long you use the Device and the Issue Tracker app.
• Geolocation data, including (1) the precise geolocation of the Device if you consent to collection of this data and (2) information about nearby Wi-Fi access points and cell towers that may be transmitted to us when you use the Device;
How We Use the Information We Obtain
We may use the information we obtain about you through the User Trial and the Device to:
• enroll, identify and authenticate you for your participation in the Samsung User Trial;
• identify and analyze technical issues you report with respect to the Device;
• analyze features and usage patterns of the Device;
• learn about errors or unexpected events;
• respond to your requests and inquiries, and manage our communications with you;
• operate, evaluate and improve the Device, the user experience and our business;
• develop new products and services, and enhance and improve our products and services;
• analyze our products, services and customer base, and conduct market research;
• perform data analytics, accounting, auditing and other internal functions;
• aggregate or de-identify the data;
• protect against, identify, and prevent fraud and criminal activity, claims and liabilities; and
• comply with and enforce applicable legal requirements, relevant industry standards, and our policies, including this Privacy Notice and applicable Terms of Use.
We may combine information we obtain about you for the purposes described above. We also may use the information we obtain in other ways for which we provide specific notice at the time of collection or otherwise with your consent.
How We Share the Information We Obtain
We may share personal information we collect through the Samsung User Trial if you ask us to do so or otherwise with your consent. We also may disclose information about you in other circumstances, including:
• With service providers so they can provide their services to us and you. We authorize our service providers to use or disclose the information only as necessary to perform services on our behalf or to comply with legal requirements.
• With our subsidiaries and affiliates.
• To comply with and enforce applicable legal requirements and process, relevant industry standards, and our policies, including this Privacy Policy.
• When we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to prevent physical harm or financial loss, or in connection with an investigation of suspected or actual fraudulent or illegal activity.
• In the event we may or do sell or transfer all or a portion of our business or assets (including in the event of a merger, acquisition, joint venture, reorganization, divestiture, dissolution or liquidation).
Links to Devices, Websites, Apps, And Features
The Samsung User Trial or the Device may provide you the ability to connect to other devices, websites, apps, and other features, which may operate independently from us and may have their own privacy notices or policies. We strongly suggest you review them. To the extent any linked device, website, device, app, or other feature is not owned or controlled by us, we are not responsible for its content, use, or privacy practices.
Your Choices
The Samsung User Trial may offer choices related to the collection, deletion, and sharing of certain information Please contact us as specified in the “How to Contact Us” section of this Privacy Notice for more information. You may also access the relevant settings on the Device to learn about choices that may be available to you.

If you are a California resident, you may have certain rights under California law. For more information about your privacy rights, please see the section of the Samsung Privacy Policy for the U.S., called California Consumer Privacy Statement.
How We Protect Personal Information
We maintain administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect against loss, misuse or unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction of personal information we obtain through the Samsung User Trial and the Device.
Children’s Personal Information
Unless otherwise specified, for the Samsung User Trial, we do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from children under age 13 without parental consent. Please contact us if you believe that a child under age 13 may have provided us with personal information without parental consent.
Updates to This Privacy Notice
This Privacy Notice may be updated periodically to reflect changes in our personal information practices with respect to the Samsung User Trial or changes in applicable law. We will indicate at the top of this Privacy Notice when it was most recently updated.
