How to Adjust Gamma

The Gamma menu adjusts the gray scale that represents middle tones on the screen. Adjusting Brightness brightens the whole screen, but adjusting Gamma only brightens the medium brightness. Gamma affects how contrasts appear on your screen. For instance, gamma that is higher (represented by a lower contrast number, such as 2.0) will make it harder to distinguish between brighter highlights in pictures, and gamma that is lower (represented by a higher contrast number, such as 2.4), will make it harder to distinguish between darker shadows in pictures (see examples below).

To adjust Gamma, follow the steps below:

  1. Press the JOG button on the back of the monitor.

  2. When the Function Key Guide appears, select menu by moving the JOG button UP. Press the JOG button, and the OSD (On-Screen Display) menu will open.

  4. Move to Color by controlling the JOG button UP/DOWN, and press the JOG button to select.

  5. The following screen will appear. Move to Gamma by controlling the JOG button UP/DOWN, and press to select. See options below.
