I subscribed to receive this filter every 6 months with a discount. The last filter I received was opened and used. I called Samsung so let them know and to ask for a new, unopened filter. They made me send back the used filter, refunded my money, and sent me a new one. But I just found out that they tricked me, cancelled my subscription without telling me, and sent me a new filter charging me the full price. Even though I asked repeatedly that I wanted to keep my subscription and the initial price. I have a copy of the transcript. That is not ok.

Received and opened my package 20 minutes ago to find the Samsung water filter box inside was already opened on one end and poorly taped on the other end. One of the filters inside was plastic wrapped, the other wasn’t wrapped at all. For the money I spent, I foolishly expected something new. Now I’m looking at one opened filter I can’t trust and one wrapped in plastic that makes me question its contents. I received what looks like a re-packaged returned item.

What is this!?

I bought a water filter and received it and just Saturday I had a neighbor come over to put it in because I not strong enough to push and twist (I’m 71).  The filter did not work as my neighbor noticed it was as the wrong filter!!!  My filter is: DA97-17376B.  He put the old one back in and water leaked all underneath my refrigerator until I could go to buy a filter that fit.  Now I need to return the wrong filter with the correct one.  Could you send me something to ship this filter back to you and you can send me the correct one, please?

WRONG FILTER SENT!!!

I have a model RFG298HDRS Samsung refrigerator built in 2012. The fridge has been great and still works except for one small issue: new HAF-CIN water filters do not work. In fact, Samsung doesn't even list this model on the filter finder page, almost as if they didn't expect their product to last more than 10 years. 

I've been purchasing genuine Samsung water filters for the life of the fridge, and the last ones I bought won't work at all. The water can barely make it through the filter due to a design change. When I remove the filter, the dispenser works fine. Samsung seems to have value engineered themselves right out of a repeat customer when the time comes when I really need to replace this refrigerator.

New Design Doesn't Work on Older Refrigerators

I love my Samsung Refrigerator. But I'm giving this review to warn consumers to please inspect your filter for small cracks etc before installing. My filter ruptured and flooded my house. The service technician had never seen this happen before, but said it could have been caused by the filter being dropped, causing cracks in housing.

INSPECT Before Installing

This is just a simple charcoal filter and it won't give us what we need.  Charcoal filters won't filter heavy metals and other important contaminants. Samsung is our "go to" brand but didn't like how they put just "charcoal" in their filter instead of KDF etc... If I need to buy another refrigerator, it won't be Samsung just because of the filter issue. I won't feel safe when I use my refrigerator filter, you "must" do better Samsung!

Not effective for important contaminants.

The filter is great. The devil's packaging is atrocious. I needed a hacksaw and giant amount of internal rage to get the filter out of the package. And I'm lucky it didn't cut me to shreds in the process. Do better. O/5 for the packaging.

I bought this filter with my new Samsung Bespoke Refrigirator assuming it would come handy when I need to replace my filter. Turns out it Doesn't fit my bespoke french refrigerator. the filter was suggested by samsung.com suggesting that it would fit. Fast forward some months later, i wanted to swap the old filter with new, it doesn't fit. What a waste of money and a bait by samsung.

I bought Samsung RF323 refrigerator five years ago. After 2 years of using it (!) water dispenser started making noise that was hard to ignore. I replaced filter several times which helped for couple of days then the noise came back. I called  tech support, which happened to be somewhere in India. They were nice but absolutely useless. Then I found some tips on YouTube made by Appliances tech. He recommended to replace filter housing, which I did successfully. It fixed the problem for another two years. And now I have exactly the same problem. I have no desire to replace filter housing one more time nor buy another Samsung refrigerator.

Horrible product.

I am very disappointed with Samsung, the hub on the refrigerator recommended this filter, but when ordered and received it. It was the wrong filter, the filter didn't fit. When I called Samsung they refused to give me a new filter for exchange or a refund for the correct filter. This is my first time ordering on the hub. They were very misleading and dishonest and customer service was terrible. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THEM. My entire kitchen alliance is all Samsung and I'm very shaken up to be treated with such disrespect and unfairness.
