SAMSUNG MyMemory Store.com(TM) Rounds Out Product Offering in Readiness for Market Shortage

SAN JOSE, Calif., June 5, 2000 - Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. today announced that MyMemoryStore.com has expanded its product offering and now provides a full catalogue of SDRAM modules. MyMemoryStore.com is an e-business online resource enabling solution providers, VARS, and manufacturers to get their Samsung memory modules directly from the world`s leading memory manufacturer. Samsung`s expanded product offering includes a full line of PC133 modules, higher-density 256Mbyte modules, and faster CAS Latency 2 (CL2) performance on selected products. This will provide MyMemoryStore.com members with a full selection and a direct relationship with Samsung as market supply tightens.

In a recent report from Dataquest, it was reported that the industry is on the cusp of a long-lasting supply shortage that will put memory on allocation. This shortage stems from the lack of new fab investment, stronger than expected PC growth, added memory requirements for Windows 2000, and a diversification of memory to include Rambus and DDR. Samsung is one of the few DRAM manufacturers that proactively invested in new fab capacity, accelerated process geometry shrinks, and ramped-up production to be ready now with a greater supply of leading-edge modules.

`DRAMs will remain in shortage until 2002,` said Jim Handy, director and principal analyst for Dataquest, a division of Gartner Group. `As a result PC OEMs will have to start negotiating long-term contracts and general solution providers will have to establish relationships with the memory manufacturers for ongoing needs for the next few years.
`A shortage first occurred in Q4 of 1999, but was reversed in the first half of this year due to Y2K inventory surplus and the shortage of microprocessors and motherboards. However, market conditions have reversed again and predictions show mix shortages of 1% to 2% in the balance of 2000 growing to a general shortage through 2001,?said Bob Eminian, general manager of MyMemoryStore.com and Samsung Semiconductor`s vice president of eBusiness solutions. `MyMemoryStore.com members have a direct link to Samsung for their supply of memory modules.

The expanded product catalogue at MyMemoryStore.com ranges from PC66 to PC133 in 32MB to 256MB, with both CAS Latency 2 and 3 supported. The full range of SDRAM products include:
