Meeteetse Schools · Wyoming
The Yellowstone Cutthroat Trout, native to the local ecosystem near Meeteetse, has been cut down by habitat degradation, over fishing and water use. This creates a negative domino effect on the natural balance of the area. These STEM students meet with a local trout rancher and use GPS technology to track the trout migration. Based on their findings, the students create a model of an apparatus which would reroute the local trout to optimize breeding and help ensure the sustainability of the species.
