How do I uninstall or disable an application on my Samsung Galaxy® SIII Mini?

To make the most of your device's internal storage capacity, you can uninstall or turn off applications you don't use. Downloaded applications can be uninstalled, and preloaded applications can be turned off.

Uninstall or Turn Off Applications

Preloaded applications (applications built into your device) cannot be uninstalled. You can only turn them off.

From the Apps menu, you can turn off preloaded applications and uninstall downloaded applications. Preloaded applications you turn off will be hidden and will not be accessible until they are turned on.

From the Apps Menu

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps.

  2. Touch Menu > Uninstall/disable apps.

  3. Touch Remove next to the application you want to turn off or uninstall.

  4. Before the application can be turned off, any updates will be uninstalled and replaced with the factory default version. If updates were installed, touch Uninstall to finish turning off the application.

If updates are uninstalled, you will need to apply any updates via Google Play™ Store once you turn on the application.

From the Application Manager

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps.

  2. Touch Settings.

  3. Touch More.

  4. Touch Application manager.

  5. In the DOWNLOADED tab, touch the application you want to uninstall, and then touch Uninstall > Uninstall.

Applications preloaded on your device cannot be uninstalled, but you can uninstall any updates you have applied by touching Uninstall updates > OK. You can then turn off the applications using the instructions above.

Turn On Applications

You can use the Apps menu or Application manager to turn on applications you've turned off.

From the Apps Menu

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps.

  2. Touch Menu > Show disabled apps.

  3. Mark the checkbox for each application you want to turn on, and then touch Done.

From the Application Manager

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps.

  2. Touch Settings.

  3. Touch More.

  4. Touch Application manager.

  5. Swipe to the TURNED OFF or DISABLED tab and touch the application you want to turn on.

  6. Touch Turn on.
