How do I Uninstall and Turn Off Applications on my Samsung Galaxy Note® 3?

To make the most of your device's internal storage capacity, you can uninstall or turn off applications you don't use. Downloaded applications can be uninstalled, and preloaded applications can be turned off.

Screens and settings available may vary by wireless service provider and software version.

Turn Off Preloaded Applications

Preloaded applications (applications built into your device) cannot be uninstalled. You can only turn off or disable them.

From the Apps menu, you can turn off preloaded applications. Once turned off, the application will be hidden and will not be accessible until it is turned on.

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps Apps Icon.
  2. Touch Menu Menu Key > Uninstall/disable apps.
  3. Touch  next to the application you want to turn off.
  4. A message may warn you about turning off the application. Touch TURN OFF or DISABLE to proceed.
  5. Before the application can be turned off, any updates will be uninstalled and replaced with the factory default version. If any updates were installed, touch UNINSTALL to finish turning off the application.
  6. Touch Back Back Key to return to the Apps menu.

Note: If updates are uninstalled, you will need to apply any updates via Google Play™ Store once you turn on the application.

Turn On Preloaded Applications

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps Apps Icon.
  2. Touch Menu Menu Key > Show disabled apps or Show turned off apps.
  3. Mark the checkbox for each application you want to turn on, and then touch DONE.

Using the Application Manager

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps Apps Icon.
  2. Touch Settings .
  3. Touch the GENERAL tab.
    Note: To switch to the tab view, touch Menu Menu Key > Switch to tab view.
  4. Touch Application manager .
  5. Swipe to the TURNED OFF or DISABLED tab, and touch the application you want to turn on.
  6. Touch TURN ON or ENABLE.

Uninstall Downloaded Applications

From the Apps menu, you can view all of your downloaded applications and quickly uninstall any you don't need.

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps Apps Icon.
  2. Touch Menu Menu Key > Downloaded apps.
    Note: If Downloaded apps is not available, touch Menu Menu Key > Uninstall/disable apps and skip to Step 4.
  3. Touch Menu Menu Key > Uninstall.
  4. Touch  on the application you want to uninstall, and then touch UNINSTALL.

Using the Application Manager

From the Application manager, you can uninstall any applications and application updates you have downloaded.

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps Apps Icon.
  2. Touch Settings .
  3. Touch the GENERAL tab.
    Note: To switch to the tab view, touch Menu Menu Key > Switch to tab view.
  4. Touch Application manager .
  5. In the DOWNLOADED tab, touch the application you want to uninstall.
  6. Touch UNINSTALL > UNINSTALL.
  7. Applications preloaded on your device cannot be uninstalled, but you can uninstall any updates you have applied by touching UNINSTALL UPDATES > OK.
