Transferring Music Between Your Galaxy Camera and Mac®

You can transfer music to your Samsung Galaxy Camera using Samsung Kies software for your Mac, Kies air, or Android File Transfer. Your mobile device supports the following file formats: 3GP, AAC, AAC+, AVI, FLV, M4A, MIDI, MKV, MMF, MP3, MP4, PMD, QCP, WAV, and WMA.

Kies for Mac

You can download the Kies software by visiting the Kies website.

  1. Open the Samsung Kies software.  

  2. Connect your device to your Mac using the supplied USB cable.   

  3.  Your device should connect automatically and show in the left panel of Kies. You may need to change the USB settings if you cannot connect; swipe your finger from the top of the screen to the bottom to open the Notification Panel and touch Connected as a camera. Touch Media device (MTP) to change the USB settings. The Notification Panel should show Connected as a media device as shown in the screenshot below.

  4. Click Music under your Library.

  5. Mark the music files you want to transfer to your device and then click Transfer to device.

  6. If a memory card is present, Kies will ask you to select internal or external memory.   

  7. The selected music files will now be on your device. Open the Music Player on your device to begin playback.

Kies air

The Kies air app is a device management suite that allows you to manage the content and personal information stored on your mobile device. The application creates a wireless connection between your device and any computer that has a web browser, making management easier and more accessible. If Kies air is not preloaded on your device, you can install it from the Google Play Store. Open Google Play Store from your mobile device and search for Kies air.

Options may vary depending on the version of Kies air on your device. Please check Google Plays Store for any available updates.

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps  > Kies air.   

  2. Touch Start to initiate the connection.   

  3. Kies air will now display a URL that can be used to browse your device. On another device, open the browser. Then type the URL in the browser's address bar.

  4. A random PIN is generated on the device.

  5. Enter the requested PIN into the browser window and click OK.

  6. The two devices should now be connected. You will see your device listed on the left panel of Kies air.   

  7. Click Music under your device name.

  8.  Click Upload > Upload. Choose Settings to change the default save location on your device. Click Save this location to save changes

  9. Navigate to your music folder and select the file(s).

  10. Click OK to begin transferring.   

  11. The selected music files will now be on your device. Open the Music Player on your device to begin playback.

    Java is needed to run certain components of Kies air.

Android File Transfer

  1. Google offers a free Android File Transfer app, available from www.android.com/filetransfer, with installation instructions.   

    You must uninstall Kies for Mac before running Android File Transfer. Otherwise, the app will not connect to your device.

  2. To uninstall Kies, download the Kies for Mac software by visiting the Kies website.   

  3. From Finder, click Go > Downloads > KiesMac_xxxx.dmg > Uninstall.   

  • Connect your device to your Mac using the supplied USB cable.  

  • After installing Android File Transfer, follow these steps:

    1. Open Android File Transfer on your Mac. Your device should connect automatically and display the contents of your device and optional memory card. You may need to change the USB settings if you cannot connect; swipe your finger from the top of the screen to the bottom to open the Notification Panel and touch Connected as a camera. Touch Media device (MTP) to change the USB settings. The Notification Panel should show Connected as a media device.  

    2.  Navigate to the appropriate folder containing your music on the Mac.

    3. Select a file or highlight all. Drag and drop the files to your music folder on your device or optional memory card.  

    4. The selected music files will now be on your device. Open the Music Player on your device to begin playback.
