Galaxy Tab S - How do I uninstall or turn off an application on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S?

To make the most of your device's internal storage capacity, you can uninstall or disable applications you don't use. Downloaded applications can be uninstalled, and preloaded applications can be disabled.

The instructions below are only for devices with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

Uninstall Downloaded Applications

Applications preloaded on your device cannot be uninstalled. You can only uninstall updates or disable preloaded applications.

You can use the Apps menu to uninstall Android™ applications you have downloaded to your device.

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps >More options.

  2. Touch Downloaded apps.

  3. Tap Uninstall.

  4. Tap the Remove icon next to the application you want to uninstall.

  5. Tap OK to uninstall app.

  

Using the Application Manager

From the Application manager, you can uninstall any applications and application updates you have downloaded.

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps > Settings.

  2. Touch APPLICATIONS tab > Application manager.

  3. Touch the application you want to uninstall in the DOWNLOADED tab. 

  4. Touch UNINSTALL.

  5. Touch UNINSTALL to confirm.

Disable Preloaded Applications

If updates are uninstalled, you will need to apply any updates via Google Play™ Store once you turn the application back ON.

You can turn OFF certain preloaded applications on your device. Once turned OFF, the application will be hidden and will not be accessible until it is turned back ON.

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps > More options.

  2. Touch Uninstall/disable apps.

  3. Swipe left or right and touch next to the preloaded application you want to disable.

  4. Review the Disable and reset notice, check mark Do not show again if you do not wish to see this message again and touch RESET to continue.

  5. Before the application can be disabled, any updates will be uninstalled and replaced with the factory default version. Touch UNINSTALL to finish.

   

Using the Application Manager

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps > Settings.

  2. Touch APPLICATIONS tab > Application manager.

  3. Touch the preloaded application you want to uninstall in the DOWNLOADED tab.

  4. Touch DISABLE.

  5. Touch OK to continue.

  6. If any updates were installed, you will be prompted to uninstall updates and replace with the factory version. Touch UNINSTALL to finish.

Turn On Disabled Applications

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps >More options

  2. Touch Show disabled apps.

  3. Mark the checkbox on the application you want to turn ON, and then touch SAVE.

  

Using the Application Manager

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps > Settings.

  2. Touch APPLICATIONS tab > Application manager.

  3. Swipe left to the TURNED OFF tab and touch the application you want to turn back ON.

  4. Touch TURN ON.
