Setting up Accounts for Google Applications and Samsung Apps for Your Galaxy Tab S

Set up and manage accounts, including your Google Account, Samsung account, email, and social networking accounts. Depending on the account, you can choose to synchronize your calendar, contacts, and other types of content.

Google Account

Your new device uses your Google Account to fully utilize its Android features, including Gmail, Google Hangouts, and the Google Play Store.

When you turn on your device for the first time, set up your existing Google Account, or create a new Google Account. To create a new Google Account or set up your Google Account on your device at any time, use Accounts settings.

  • From the Home screen, touch Apps > Settings > General > Accounts > Add account > Google.

Samsung Account

Create a Samsung account for access to Samsung content and apps on your device.

When you turn on your device for the first time, set up your existing Samsung account or create a new Samsung account. To create a new Samsung account or set up your Samsung account on your device at any time, use Accounts settings.

  • From the Home screen, touch Apps > Settings > General > Accounts > Add account > Samsung account.

Add an Account

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps > Settings > GENERAL.

  2. Touch Accounts > Add account.

  3. Touch one of the account types.

  4. Follow the prompts to enter your credentials and set up the account.

   

Synchronize Accounts

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps > Settings > GENERAL.

  2. Touch Accounts.

  3. Touch an account type and then the account.

  4. Touch individual data items to customize sync settings.

    Sync options and the location of the sync command differ depending on the account type.

  

Account Settings

Each account has its own set of settings. In addition, you can configure common settings for all accounts of the same type.

Account settings and available features vary between account types and service providers. Contact your service provider for more information on your account's settings.

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps > Settings > GENERAL.

  2. Touch Accounts.

  3. Touch an account to configure that account's settings.

  4. Touch the account name or other available options to configure common settings for all accounts of this type.

Delete an Account

  1. From the Home screen, touch AppsSettings > GENERAL.

  2. Touch Accounts.

  3. Touch an account type and then the account.

  4. Touch More options > Remove account.

  5. Touch Remove account to confirm deletion.
