Galaxy Tab S - How do I download and install applications on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S?

The Apps screen displays all applications installed on your device, both preloaded apps and apps you download and install yourself. Learn how to change the way apps appear, organize apps into folders, and uninstall or disable apps.

Download and Install New Apps

Find new apps to download and install on your device.

  • Google Play Store: Download new apps from the Google Play store. Visit play.google.com/store/apps to learn more.
  • GALAXY Apps: View and download Samsung apps that are optimized for use with GALAXY devices.

Apps Screen Features

The Apps screen shows all preloaded apps and apps that you downloaded. You can uninstall, disable, or hide apps from view. Shortcuts to apps can be placed on any of the Home screens.

Access Applications

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps .
  2. Touch an application's icon to launch it.
  3. To return to the main Home screen, press the Home key .

Uninstall or Disable Apps

You can uninstall or disable apps you download and install.

  • Preloaded apps cannot be uninstalled.
  • Apps that are disabled are turned off and hidden from view.
  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps .
  2. Touch More Options > Uninstall/disable apps.



  3. Touch - icon to uninstall or disable apps. Tap back to complete.

Re-enabling Disabled Apps

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps > Settings .
  2. Touch APPLICATIONS tab > Application Manager.



  3. Touch Application Manager and scroll to the right most tab named Turned Off.



  4. Touch the app you would like to re-enable and then select Turn On.

Organize Your Apps

The Apps icons can be organized in folders and rearranged in your own custom order.

Change the Order Apps Are Listed

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps .
  2. Touch More Options > Edit.



  3. Touch and hold an app icon or folder and drag it to the location you want.
  4. Touch Save when finished.

Use Folders to Organize Apps

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps .
  2. Tap More Options > Create folder.



  3. Enter a folder name and tap the + icon and tap applications to place in the folder.



  4. Touch anywhere outside of the folder to close it.
    • Tap the + icon to add more applications or More Options to change the folder color.
    • Tap the folder name to edit it.
