Where are my photos and videos stored on my Samsung Galaxy Tab E 9.6, and can I move them?

By default, your captured pictures and videos are stored on your device's internal memory. If you have installed a microSD™ card, your device will ask if you want to change the storage location to the microSD card the next time you open the Camera application. You can save room on your device by moving pictures, videos, and other files to your microSD card or to the My Files application.

Change the Default Save Location

Videos and pictures taken using certain camera modes will be saved to the device regardless of the storage location setting.

1. From the Home screen, touch Apps.

2. Touch Camera.

3. Touch SETTINGS.

4. Touch Storage location.

Storage location will be grayed out if you do not have a microSD card inserted.

  

5. Select Device or Memory card.

Move Pictures to the microSD Card

1. From the Home screen, touch Apps.

2. Touch My Files.

3. Touch Device storage.

4. Open the folder containing the pictures you want to move. The following table directs you to the folder where your media are stored:

MEDIA SAVED FROM STORAGE LOCATION
Browser Download
Camera DCIM > Camera
Video Videos, or DCIM > Camera
Screen capture DCIM > Screenshots

5. Touch MORE > Edit and mark the checkbox for each picture you want to move.

6. Touch MORE > Move or Copy.

7. Touch SD™ card.

8. Select a folder, or touch CREATE FOLDER to make a new folder for the files.

9. Touch MOVE HERE or PASTE HERE.

Move Pictures in the Gallery

1. From the Home screen, touch Apps.

2. Touch Gallery.

3. Touch Time and select Albums.

4. Open the album containing the pictures you want to move.

5. Touch MORE > Edit and mark the checkbox for each picture you want to move.

6. Touch MORE > Move to album and choose a folder on your device or microSD card.  Touch Create album to move the selected files to a new folder or album.
