Taking Screenshots on Your Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0

A screenshot is a snapshot of your device screen that is saved as a photo. There are several ways to capture screenshots on your device. Screenshots are automatically saved to the Screenshots folder in the Gallery, as well as copied to your clipboard.

Capture Using Device Keys

You can capture a screenshot by simultaneously pressing the Home key and the Power/Lock key on your device until a white border flashes around the edges of the screen.

Capture Using a Palm Swipe

Turn On Palm Swipe to Capture

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps.

  2. Touch Settings.

  3. Touch the CONTROLS tab.

  4. Touch Palm motion.

  5. If necessary, touch the slider off next to Palm motion to turn it on.

  6. Touch the slider off next to Capture screen to turn it on.

  7. Capture a screenshot by touching the screen with the side of your hand and swiping across from left to right, or vice versa.

View a Screenshot

To view a screenshot immediately after you capture it:

  1. Open the Notification Panel by swiping screen up to down.

  2. Touch Screenshot captured to open the screenshot.

  3. You can also quickly SHARE, EDIT, or DELETE the screenshot from the Notification Panel. If necessary, swipe down on the Screenshot captured notification to access these options.

To view your screenshots at any time:

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps.

  2. Touch Gallery.

  3. Touch Time and select Albums.

  4. Open the Screenshots album.

  5. Touch the desired screenshot.  

Share a Screenshot

From the Notification Panel

  1. Open the Notification Panel by swiping from the top of the screen to the bottom.

  2. If necessary, swipe down on the Screenshot captured notification. Touch SHARE.

  3. Share the screenshot using one of the available options. Sharing options vary based on applications installed and features turned on. 

From the Gallery

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps.  

  2. Touch Gallery.

  3. Touch Time and select Albums.

  4. Open the Screenshots album.

  5. Touch the desired screenshot.

  6. Touch Share at the top of the screen.   

    If necessary, tap the screen to display this option.

  7. Share the screenshot using one of the available options. Sharing options vary based on applications installed and features turned on.  

Screenshot Options

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps.

  2. Touch Gallery.

  3. Touch Time and select Albums.

  4. Touch Screenshots.

  5. Touch the desired screenshot.

  6. When viewing the screenshot, the following icons are available at the top of the screen:

    The options disappear after 1–2 seconds; touch the screen to display them again.

    • Favorite: Mark the screenshot as a favorite.

    • Share: Share the screenshot using one of the available options. Sharing options vary based on applications installed and features turned on.

    • Edit: Choose to Crop the photo, edit it using Photo Editor, or add it to a Collage.

    • Delete: Delete the screenshot.

    • Change player: View the screenshot on a nearby compatible DLNA® enabled device.

  7. Touch More options for the following options:  

    If necessary, tap the screen to display these options.

    • CAMERA: Open the Camera application.

    • MORE: Access the following options:

      • Details: View technical information about the screenshot, such as its size.

      • Slideshow: Start a slideshow of the screenshots in the folder.

      • Set as contact picture: Set the screenshot as a contact photo.

      • Set as wallpaper: Set the screenshot as wallpaper.

      • Photo Frame: Write on the border around the screenshot.

      • Buddy photo share: Share the screenshot with anyone tagged in it.

      • Crop: unwanted areas out of the screenshot.

      • Settings: View and edit Gallery settings. View accounts available for syncing with the Gallery, and select when syncing should occur. Turn on face and buddy tagging, and access Sound & shot settings.

      • Print: Print the screenshot to an available printer using a wireless network, Wi-Fi Direct®, or a USB cable.

      • Write on image: Make a note on the "back" of the screenshot.

      • Copy to clipboard: Copy the screenshot to the clipboard so it can be pasted into other applications.
