Ideas for Placement of Your LED TV
Unlike the old box TVs your parents had in the corner of the living room, the slim form factor of today's flat-panel displays makes them ideal for anyone who wants to be creative with their room design. There are many interesting and functional places to place a TV without sacrificing its viewability. See the options below to learn more.
Above the Fireplace
Fireplaces are already a focal point in most homes, so they are often a natural place to mount a flat-screen TV, but you have to be aware of the temperature. The operating temperature for Samsung LED TVs should not exceed 104 degrees Fahrenheit. A wide mantel below the TV will protect it in some cases, but you should use a thermometer while a fire is burning before mounting a TV over the fireplace. If it's a wood-burning fireplace, watch for ash that could accumulate on the TV and its vents.
On a Wall
Hanging a flat-panel TV on a wall is the most convenient location for many rooms. When selecting a mounting kit, pay close attention to its depth. Samsung Mini Wall Mounts have a profile between 0.7 and 1.6 inches, which is enough to ventilate the TV without making its profile the center of attention in a small room.
If you don't watch a lot of TV in a small room, like a bedroom or home office, positioning the TV in a cabinet or closet keeps it out of the way when it isn't in use, while making it available just by sliding open a door. Placing a small TV on a shelf, in a book case, or mounting it on the wall above a shelf also minimizes its impact on a room without affecting your view.
