Turn on Location Services on Your Samsung Galaxy Tab E

The Location settings let you choose how your mobile device will determine your location.

Turn On Location Services

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps > Settings.

  2. Scroll to and touch Privacy > Location.

  3. Touch the OFF slider to turn Location ON.

  4. When prompted, review Improve location accuracy? message and touch AGREE to activate, otherwise touch DISAGREE.

    Check mark Don't show again if you do not wish to see this message again.

Manage Accuracy Level

You can select the accuracy level of your device's locating method.

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps > Settings.

  2. Scroll to and touch Privacy > Location.

  3. Touch Locating method.

  4. Choose from the following options:

    • GPS and Wi-Fi: This option has the highest level of accuracy, using GPS and Wi-Fi interchangeably to estimate your location.

    • Wi-Fi only: This option uses only Wi-Fi to estimate your location.

    • GPS only: This option uses only the GPS network to estimate your location.

View Recent Location Requests

Your device will display any applications that have recently requested access to your location in the Recent location requests section.

  1. Touch an application to access its application information screen.

  2. Scroll down to view the apps specific Permission groups.

Google Location History

Google Location History helps you get useful information - For example, automatic commute predictions, improved search results, and more useful ads on and off Google - by creating a private map of where you go with your logged-in devices.

  1. Touch Google Location History. You will be prompted to sign-in to your Google Account if you have not already done so.

  2. Touch the OFF slider at the top-right corner to turn Location History ON.

  3. You may also touch DELETE LOCATION HISTORY to delete location history.

  4. Touch DELETE to permanently delete location history.
