Play Music Stored on Your Samsung Galaxy Tab E

The Music app plays music files. Use Music to browse your music library, play songs, and create playlists. You can also set songs as ringtones for incoming calls, or as alarm tones. When you close the Music screen, playback will continue in the background, so you can listen to music while you use other features of your device. When music is playing in the background, you can access playback controls from the notification panel.

Play Music

  1. From home, touch Apps > Music.

    • The music app opens to the Playlists category.

    • The default categories are Playlists, Tracks, Albums, Artists, Genres, Folders, and Composers. Touch the drop-down list at the upper left corner and tap a category to display it.

  2. Scroll through the list and touch a song to begin. While playing music, use these controls:

    • Touch to pause playback. To start playback again, touch.

    • Touch to move to the previous song. Touch to move to the next song.

    • Touch the repeat mode button to control playback. Choose to play all songs once. Choose to repeat all songs. Choose to repeat the current song.

    • Touch the shuffle songs button to control the order songs are played. Choose to play songs in the order they appear in the list. Choose to play songs in random order.

    • Touch to mark a song as a favorite. Whenever a song is a favorite, the star is bright. Favorite songs are included in the Favorites playlist.

    • Touch to set the volume. You can also set volume by pressing the Volume key on the side of the device.

Use Playlists

Create playlists to group songs, so you can listen to them together.

  1. From home, touch Apps > Music.

  2. Touch the Playlists tab.

  3. Touch an existing playlist to play its songs or touch Create playlist to create a new playlist.

  4. Enter a name for the playlist and touch CREATE.

  5. Checkmark the songs by touching songs from the Tracks list to add them to the playlist. When you're done adding songs, touch Done.

  6. The new playlist is saved under My playlists.

    To edit a playlist, touch it from the list and then touch ADD to add more songs, or touch MORE to access the Edit, Rename, SoundAlive, and Settings options for the playlist.

Music Options and Settings

  1. 1. From Home screen, touch Apps > Music.

  2. Touch MORE for following options.

    • Edit: Edit the song or playlist.

    • SoundAlive: Choose a setting to match the type of music you’re playing.

    • Settings:
      • Play speed: Touch and drag the slider to set the default speed for music playback.

      • Music auto off: Choose a time period for music to play, after which Music will close.

      • Smart volume: When enabled, Music automatically adjusts the volume of all songs to an equal level.
