Self Diagnosis Feature on the 2015 (UN**JS*) 4K SUHD TV

The self diagnosis feature allows you to test the TVs picture, sound, 3D / Bluetooth, Smart Hub connection, and motion control feature to ensure the TV is performing properly.

Some of these features may not be available on all models.

Accessing the Self Diagnosis menu

  1. Press the MENU/123 button on the TV remote.  

  2.  Select Menu in the upper left hand corner of the screen.  

  3. Select the Support sub menu.  

  4. Navigate to and select Self Diagnosis.  

Select the test you would like to perform below to continue:

Picture Test

If the issue appears in any of the picture tests the TV will require service.

  1. Picture Test is highlighted. Select Picture Test to continue.  

  2. You will receive a message explaining that the Picture test will appear on the TV.  

  3. A test picture will appear on the screen and remain for 5 seconds.  

  4. A message appears asking if you saw the problem in the test image that was on the screen.  

    • If the problem still occurs select Yes and continue to the next step.

    • If the problem does not occur select No and follow the on-screen instructions for troubleshooting your video issue with your external device.

  5. You will receive a second picture test to test additional hardware in the TV.

      

    • If the problem still occurs select Yes and continue to the next step.

    • If the problem does not occur select No, then follow the on-screen instructions for setting up your TV for service.

  6. You will receive Third picture test to test additional hardware in the TV.

      

    • If the problem still occurs select Yes, then follow the on-screen instructions for setting up your TV for service.

    • If the problem does not occur select No, then follow the on-screen instructions for setting up your TV for service

3D picture test

  1. Select 3D Picture Test.  

  2. Pair the 3D glasses to the TV by holding the power button on the glasses until the light starts blinking green and red.  

  3. If the glasses pair continue to the next step.  

  4. If the glasses do not pair replace the battery in the glasses and try again. If they still do not pair you will need to contact Samsung support.  

  5. A 3D image appears on the screen.  

  6. If the image appears in 3D correctly there is an issue with the source content. If it does not the TV will require service.  

Smart Hub connection test

  1. Select Smart Hub Connection Test.

  2. The TV starts the test. This feature tests the wired / wireless network connection, Gateway, DNS server, ISP blocking, Samsung server connection, and Apps panel functionality.  

  3. The test completes and displays the results.  

  4. If the test doesn't pass at one of the checks, the final panel will display an error with a description of what is wrong and how to fix it.  

Sound test

  1. Select Sound Test to continue.  

  2. A test sound will play over the TV speakers. It may take a few seconds to start playing. The speakers selected and the volume is displayed in the upper left of the TV screen.  

    • If the problem still occurs select Yes and follow the instructions that display.

    • If the problem does not occur select No, then follow the on-screen instructions for troubleshooting your audio issue with your external device.
