Taking Screenshots on Your Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+

A screenshot is a snapshot of your device's screen that is saved as a photo. There are several ways to capture screenshots on your device. Screenshots are automatically saved to the Screenshots folder in the Gallery, as well as to the clipboard.

Screens and settings available may vary by wireless service provider and software version.

Capture Using Device Keys

You can capture a screenshot by pressing Home and Power/Lock at the same time for 1–2 seconds until a white border flashes around the edges of the screen. You will also hear a shutter sound or feel a vibration, if your device is not muted, and notifications will display in the status bar and Notification Panel.

If your screenshot failed, try again, ensuring you press both keys at the same time.

Capture Using Palm Swipe

Capture a screenshot by touching the screen with the side of your hand and swiping across from left to right, or vice versa.

This feature is on by default, but if it has been turned off, you can follow the instructions to turn it back on:

  1. From the Home screen, navigate to Apps > Settings.

  2. Swipe to and touch Advanced features.

It may be necessary to touch the DEVICE tab and then touch Advanced features.

  3. Touch the slider next to Palm swipe to capture to turn it on.

Screen Capture Features

For a few seconds after the screenshot is captured, the Smart capture options display at the bottom of the screen:

  • Capture more: If the screen you are capturing has additional content when you scroll down (such as web pages or text conversations), touch Capture more to automatically scroll down and capture additional screenshots until the whole page is captured.

• Share: Touch to share the screenshot using one of the available options. Sharing options vary based on apps installed and features turned on. Swipe to the left to reveal more sharing options.

  • Crop: Touch to crop the screenshot down to a portion of the screen.
