Setting the Aspect Ratio on your SUHD TV (UN**KS****)
Aspect Ratio is the proportional relationship between the width and height of an image or display. There are multiple Aspect Ratios available to resize the picture on your TV.
Depending on what you are watching, there will be black bars on the top and bottom or the sides of the screen. The ratio of the TV screen in 1.78:1 and most TV channels are the same ratio. For movies, the most common ratio is 2.35:1 which will result in black bars on the top and bottom of the screen. The aspect ratio will be listed on the packaging of the DVD/Blu-Ray.
Watching your TV in 4:3 mode for extended periods of time will cause screen burn-in. This happens when the black sidebars are on the screen for hours at a time. This type of damage is not covered by your Warranty.
