Self Diagnosis Features for your SUHD TV (UN**KS****)

The Self Diagnosis feature allows you to test the TVs picture, sound, and Smart Hub connection, and motion control feature to ensure the TV is performing properly.

Start Picture Test

Start Picture Test is to determine if the problem is caused by the TV. The Start Picture Test displays a high definition picture you can examine for flaws or faults. When the TV has trouble with the picture, these steps may help resolve the problem.

  1. Press the Home button on your Samsung Smart Control, to access the Home Screen.  

  2. Using the directional pad on your remote, navigate to and select Settings.  

  3. Select Support.  

  4. Select Self Diagnosis.  

  5. Select Start Picture Test.   

  6. Select OK to start Picture Test.   

  7. Look at the screen for any problems (5 sec).   

  8. Select Yes to continue with test, otherwise select No.  To view the screen again, select Show Again.   

  9. After a series of 3 Picture Tests, if there is a problem, you will be asked to contact Samsung Call Center. Be ready to provide the on-screen information to the support agent.   

    • If the test picture is displayed properly, there may be a problem with an external device. Please check the connections.

    • If the problem persists, check the signal strength or refer to the external device’s user manual.

Start Sound Test

If the TV plays the Start Sound Test melody without distortion, there may be a problem with an external device or the broadcast signal's strength.

  1. Press the Home button on your Samsung Smart Control, to access the Home Screen.  

  2. Using the directional pad on your remote, navigate to and select Settings.  

  3. Select Support.  

  4. Select Self Diagnosis.  

  5. Select Start Sound Test.  

  6. Sound Test will begin. Select Yes if you still hear the problem in the test sound, otherwise select No.   

  7. If there is a problem, you will be asked to contact Samsung Call Center. Be ready to provide the on-screen information to the support agent.

Start Smart Hub Connection Test

The Smart Hub Connection Test diagnoses the problem by checking the Internet connection, your ISP, the Samsung server, and the Apps service.

  1. Press the Home button on your Samsung Smart Control, to access the Home Screen.  

  2. Using the directional pad on your remote, navigate to and select Settings.  

  3. Select Support.  

  4. Select Self Diagnosis.  

  5. Select Start Smart Hub Connection Test.  

  6. Please wait while your Smart Hub Connection Test is being verified.  

  7. Once your Smart Hub Connection Test completed successfully, select Close, to go back to the main menu.  

Reset Smart Hub

Resets all Smart Hub settings to their factory defaults and deletes all information related to Samsung accounts, linked service accounts, Smart Hub service agreements, and Smart Hub applications.

  1. Press the Home button on your Samsung Smart Control, to access the Home Screen.  

  2. Using the directional pad on your remote, navigate to and select Settings.  

  3. Select Support.  

  4. Using the directional pad, scroll down the list and select Reset Smart Hub.  

  5. Enter in your PIN, then select Done.  

  6. Select OK, once the reset is complete.  

Factory Reset

You can restore all TV settings (excluding the Internet and network settings) to the factory defaults.

  1. Press the Home button on your Samsung Smart Control to access the Home Screen.  

  2. Using the directional pad on your remote, navigate to and select Settings.  

  3. Select Support.  

  4. Select Self Diagnosis.  

  5. Select Reset.  

  6. Enter in your 4 digit PIN, then select Done. By default your PIN is 0000.  

  7. Select Yes to continue.  

  8. Select OK to finish the reset. Your TV will restart automatically.
