Taking Screenshots on Your Samsung Galaxy J1

You can capture screenshots on your device using device keys. Screenshots will be copied to the clipboard and saved to the Screenshots folder in the Gallery.

Using Device Keys

You can capture a screenshot by simultaneously pressing Home and Power/Lock on your device until a white border flashes around the edges of the screen.

View a Screenshot

To view a screenshot immediately after you capture it:

  1. Open the Notification Panel by swiping from the top of the screen to the bottom.

  2. Touch Screenshot captured to open the screenshot.

  3. You can also quickly SHARE or DELETE the screenshot from the Notification Panel. If necessary, swipe down on Screenshot captured to access these options.

To view your screenshots at any time:

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps.

  2. Touch Gallery.

  3. Touch Menu and then touch Album.

  4. Open the Screenshots album.

  5. Touch the desired screenshot.

Share a Screenshot

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps.

  2. Touch Gallery.

  3. Touch Menu and then touch Album.

  4. Open the Screenshots album.

  5. Touch the desired screenshot.

  6. Touch Share at the top of the screen.

  7. Share the screenshot using one of the available options. Sharing options may vary depending on the apps installed and features turned on.

Screenshot Options

  1. In the Screenshots album, touch the desired screenshot.

  2. When viewing the screenshot, the following options are available at the top of the screen:

    • Share via: Share the screenshot using one of the available options. Sharing options may vary depending on the apps installed and features turned on.

    • Delete: Delete the screenshot.

    • Camera: Open the Camera app.

  3. Touch More options for the following options:

    • Edit: Edit the screenshot.

    • Crop: Crop unwanted areas out of the screenshot.

    • Rename: Rename the screenshot.

    • Slideshow: Start a slideshow of the screenshots in the folder.

      Additional options may be available on your device.

    • Set as: Set the screenshot as a Contact photo, Home and lock screens wallpaper, Home screen wallpaper, Lock screen wallpaper, or Google+™ Photos Wallpaper.

    • Details: View technical information about the screenshot, such as its size.

    • Print: Print the screenshot to an available printer using a wireless network, Wi-Fi Direct®, or a USB cable.
