Using the Camera on Your Galaxy Tab S2
Pre-loaded camera modes are available on your device. You can capture photos and videos using both the front and the rear lens on your device. You can also edit and share your photos and videos directly.
Screens and settings available may vary by wireless service provider and software version.
Basic Camera Usage
From the Home screen, touch Apps.
• The camera can also be opened by swiping Camera icon on the lock screen, unless you have changed the App shortcuts in the Lock screen and security settings to another application.
• The features on your screen may vary depending on the camera mode selected.
Touch Camera to open your camera.
Basic functions of the camera are shown below:
The most commonly used display settings on the camera viewfinder screen are as follows:
|Filter effects||Change the mood of your photos by adding a filter effect. Touch the icon to select a filter effect for your photo and to Manage and Download additional filters.|
|Timer||Touch the icon to select a time delay between touching the Camera shutter button and taking the photo.|
|Picture size||Choose the proportion and resolution of your photos.|

The available camera settings may vary depending on your wireless service and software version.
Video size (rear): Change the video capture resolution. Note that choosing a video size larger than 1:1 will make certain features unavailable, such as HDR, filter effects, and video stabilization.
Video stabilization: Reduces jitter when holding the device to capture video. Touch the slider next to Video stabilization to turn it on . Video stabilization will be unavailable if Tracking AF is on.
View mode: Choose between standard and full screen view mode.
Grid lines: Touch to turn off or change the grid lines displayed on the screen. Display 3x3 grid lines or grid lines for a Square photo.
Location tags: Tags your photos with the location where they were taken. Touch the slider next to Location tags to turn it on.
The first time you open the camera, you have the option of turning on location tags, so this feature may already be turned on.
Review pictures: Lets you view photos and videos immediately after you take them. Touch the slider next to Review pictures to turn it on.
Storage location: Choose to store your photos to your device, or optional memory card.
Volume keys function: Touch to choose how the Volume keys are used when the camera is open. You can use them to Take pictures, Record video, or Zoom.
Reset settings: Returns your camera settings to the factory default.
Help: Get additional assistance using the camera.
The default camera mode is Auto.
From the Home screen, touch Apps.
Touch Camera to open the camera app.
Aim your device at the subject, and touch the screen to focus on a specific area. You can adjust the brightness to your preference by moving the slider.
Touch Caoture to take the photo.
• Touch and hold the Capture to take burst shots up to 100 shots.
• You can release Capture once you have reached the desired amount of photos.
To take a selfie, touch Switch Camera.
You can choose from different camera mode options. To change the camera mode, touch MODE. The modes are as follows:
Review Photos After Capturing
Photos can be reviewed from your Gallery application.
You can set your device to display photos immediately after capturing.
To activate this feature:
After opening Camera, touch Settings.
Navigate to Review pictures and touch the slider to turn the function on.
After capturing a photo, a preview of your previous photo will be displayed on your screen. You can also delete the photo from the preview screen by touching Delete.
After opening the camera, aim your device at the subject and touch Record.
To adjust the brightness, touch the screen to focus on a specific area, and then touch the slider that appears on the screen to adjust the brightness.
This function may not be available on some carrier devices.
To capture still photos while shooting a video, touch Capture.
Touch Pause to temporarily stop the recording or touch Stop to finish recording.
The Pause and Stop button only appear during a recording.
The recorded videos will be saved in your Gallery.
