Galaxy J3 - What is Google™ FRP, and how do I use it on my Samsung Galaxy J3?

Google™ FRP (Factory Reset Protection) prevents others from activating your device if it has been reset to factory settings without your permission. If your device is lost or stolen, only someone with your Google™ account information can use the device.

The available screens and settings may vary by wireless service provider and software version.

Google™ FRP

For security purposes, you can't use an account to set up a device after reset if that password was changed within the 24 hours. Wait 24 hours and try again.

Google™ FRP (Factory Reset Protection) is enabled automatically when a Google™ account is registered to your device. Make sure your Google™ Account has been added to your device:

  • Your device will require you to enter your Google™ account information again to complete the factory reset. 

Disable Google™ FRP

If you would like to disabled FRP, remove your Google™ account from your device.

To remove a Google™ account:

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps.

  2. Navigate to Settings > Accounts > Google.

  3. Select the Google™ account you would like to remove if you have more than one registered account. 

  4. Then, navigate to MORE > Remove account.

  5. To remove your account, touch REMOVE ACCOUNT.

    If you have previously set up a lock type other than Swipe or None, you will be required to enter your credentials.
