Adjusting the Screen Brightness and Timeout on Your Galaxy S5 Active

You can set the screen brightness to adjust automatically or manually. On automatic, the screen adjusts according to the brightness or darkness of your surroundings.

The available screens and settings may vary by wireless service provider and software version.

Adjust Display Brightness

Reducing the display brightness can assist with battery conservation.

Adjusting From the Notification Panel

    1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Notification Panel.

    2. Touch and drag the slider to the right or left to adjust the brightness of the screen.

    Mark the Auto checkbox to turn on automatic brightness.

Adjusting From the Display Settings

    1. From the Home screen, touch Apps.

    2. Navigate to Settings > Display > Brightness.

    3. Touch and drag the slider to the right or left to adjust the brightness of the screen.

Adjust Screen Timeout

Reducing the screen timeout can assist on battery conservation.

1. From the Home screen, touch Apps.

2. Navigate to Settings > Display > Screen timeout

3. Select from the various Screen timeout options.
