How do I Format the microSD Card on My Samsung Galaxy Tab S?

To add additional memory space to your device, you can use a microSD (not included). Your device has been tested to support up to a 64GB memory card.

The available screens and settings may vary by wireless service provider and software version.

Format a microSD Card

When formatting a SD card, backup your stored music and photo files to prevent data loss.

  1. Navigate to Apps > Settings > GENERAL > Storage.

      

  2. Touch SD card.

      

      

  3. Touch Format.

      

      

  4. To confirm the format, touch FORMAT.

      

Remove a microSD Card

Some apps may stop working until you insert the SD card again.

Some apps may stop working until you insert the SD card again.

  1. Navigate to Apps > Settings > GENERAL > Storage.

      

  2. Touch SD card.

      

      

  3. To remove your SD card safely, touch Unmount.

      

      

  4. Unmounted will appear under SD card.

      

      

  5. Remove the microSD card from your device.
