How do I Clear the App Data/Cache on My Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1? (SM-T587P)

If an app on your device is not responding, you can clear the temporary files from the app cache to free up memory. If the app remains unresponsive, or if there is an app you want to reset to factory settings without uninstalling it, you can clear the app data. Clearing app data can also free up memory on your device.

Clearing the App Cache

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps > Settings > Applications.

        

  2. Touch Application manager.

        

        

  3. Touch an app to clear the cache.

        

        

  4. Touch Storage.

        

        

  5. Touch CLEAR CACHE.

        

Clearing the App Data

Clearing app data will reset the app to factory default settings. All personal settings, such as bookmarks and saved passwords, will be deleted.

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps > Settings > Applications.

        

  2. Touch Application manager.

        

        

  3. Touch an app to clear data.

        

        

  4. Touch Storage.

        

        

  5. Touch MANAGE STORAGE.

        

        

  6. Touch CLEAR ALL DATA.

        

  7. Review the information about deleting app data and touch OK.
