Self Diagnosis Features on Your QLED TV

If you experience any problems with your QLED TV, you can run Self Diagnosis to identify the issue as well as offer troubleshooting tips. If all else fails, you can restore your QLED TV to factory settings.

 

Digital Channel Signal

If your TV is attached to a separate, over-the-air antenna, you can use the signal strength information to adjust the antenna for increased signal strength and improved HD channel reception.

1. Press the Home button on your remote.

2. Navigate to Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis.

3. Select Signal Information.

4. After your Signal Test is complete, select Close to go back to the main menu.

Picture Test

Use the Picture Test to determine if the problem is caused by the TV. The Picture Test displays a high definition picture that you can examine for flaws or faults. When the TV has trouble with the picture, these steps may help resolve the problem.

1. Press the Home button on your remote.

2. Navigate to Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis.

3. Select Start Picture Test.

4. To start the Picture Test, select OK.

5. Look at the screen for any problems.

6. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the picture test.

  • If the picture test does not appear or you see a problem with the image, the TV may have a problem. Contact Us for assistance.
  • If the test picture is displayed properly, there may be a problem with an external connected device. Please check the connections and if the problem persists, check the signal strength or refer to the external device's user manual.

Sound Test

The Sound Test plays a melody to help determine if there is an issue with the TV speakers. If the melody plays without issue, there may be an issue with the external device.

1. Press the Home button on your remote.

2. Navigate to Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis.

3. Select Start Sound Test.

4. The Sound Test will begin. If you still hear a problem in the Sound Test, select Yes. Otherwise, select No.

5. If there is a problem, you will be asked to contact the Samsung Call Center. Be ready to provide the on-screen information to the support agent.

Smart Hub® Connection Test

The Smart Hub® Connection Test diagnoses the problem by checking the Internet connection, your ISP, the Samsung server, and the Apps service.

1. Press the Home button on your remote.

2. Navigate to Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis.

3. Select Start Smart Hub® Connection Test.

4. After your Smart Hub® Connection Test is complete, select Close to go back to the main menu.

If any problems are detected, please follow the on-screen directions.

Reset Smart Hub®

Resets all Smart Hub® settings to their factory defaults and deletes all information related to Samsung accounts, linked service accounts, Smart Hub® service agreements, and Smart Hub® apps.

1. Press the Home button on your remote.

2. Navigate to Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis.

3. Select Reset Smart Hub®.

4. Enter your PIN.

The default PIN is 0000.

5. After the reset is complete, select OK.

Factory Reset

You can restore all TV settings (excluding the network settings) to factory defaults.

1. Press the Home button on your remote.

2. Navigate to Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis.

3. Select Reset.

4. Enter your PIN.

The default PIN is 0000.

5. Select Reset.

6. To complete the reset, select OK. Your TV will restart automatically.
