Galaxy Tab S - How do I uninstall or turn off an application on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S?

Uninstall Using the Apps Menu

You can use the Apps menu to uninstall Android™ applications and widgets you have downloaded to your device.

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps.

  2. Touch More options > Downloaded apps.

  3. Tap Uninstall and touch next to the application you want to uninstall.

  4. Tap OK to confirm.

Uninstall Using the Application Manager

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps > Settings > Applications > Application manager.

  2. If necessary, swipe to the DOWNLOADED tab.

  3. Touch the application you want to uninstall, and then touch Uninstall > Uninstall.

Applications preloaded on your device cannot be uninstalled, but you can uninstall any updates you have applied by touching Uninstall updatesOK.

 

Turn Off Applications

If updates are uninstalled, you will need to apply any updates via Google Play™ Store once you turn the application back on.

You can turn off certain preloaded applications on your device. Once turned off, the application will be hidden and will not be accessible until it is turned back on.

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps.

  2. Touch More options > Uninstall/disable apps.

  3. Touch the Remove icon next to the application you want to turn off. A message may warn you about turning off the application and deleting its data. Touch Reset to proceed. 

  4. Before the application can be turned off, any updates will be uninstalled and replaced with the factory default version. Touch Uninstall to proceed.

For some applications, you will be taken to the Disable app screen. Touch Disable app to turn off the application.

Turn On Applications

You can turn on applications from the Apps menu.

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps.

  2. Touch More options > Show disabled apps.

  3. Mark the checkbox for each application you want to turn on, and then touch Done.

   

You can also turn on applications with the Application manager.

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps > Settings > Applications > Application manager.

  2. Swipe to the TURNED OFF tab and touch the application you want to turn on.

  3. Touch Turn on.
